ibc, Prejudice is a preconceived judgment or adverse opinion that disregards information that may prove the judgment wrong. In the 1970's the majority of Americans supported civil rights for black Americans. I am sure there were radio hosts who disagreed. There isn't the same level of consensus on homosexuality. I once held the position you now hold but after examining my own experience with homosexuals including two siblings, reviewing the psychological literature as well as the religious literature on this issue, I have come to a different conclusion than you have. My position is hardly a prejudice. It has been carefully thought out and examined.

After Unitarian Universalists shunned and abandoned me for pursuing my own “free and responsible search for truth and meaning”, I was forced to reevaluate my religious beliefs.

Great! I suppose if it were 1970, and the minister had been black, you'd find a warm and sympathetic reception among conservative radio hosts for your prejudice.

After all, it's all about you and your "search for truth and meaning"...

Taigitsune, I do not believe I have bashed "your people" or any other people for that matter. In Not of My Making I share what happened to me in two Unitarian Universalist congregations as well as a Lutheran congregation. I have striven to be honest and fair. In the interest of "justice, equity and compassion in human relations" I hope you will read my book before passing judgment.
I once was as dedicated as you now appear to be to Unitarian Universalism and use to carry a copy of the seven principles in my wallet. After Unitarian Universalists shunned and abandoned me for pursuing my own "free and responsible search for truth and meaning", I was forced to reevaluate my religious beliefs. I am glad I did. I find in Christianity a moral philosophy that is far better thought out than modern Unitarian Universalism. I am grateful to Unitarian Universalism for allowing me to freely explore my spirituality. I am saddened that once I found what I was looking for UUs no longer had a place for me.

I just wanted to clarify that I do not in any way represent the Unitarian Universalist Association. I'm simply a Unitarian Universalist who doesn't like seeing his people being bashed.

For those who are interested, you can see the UU Principles at http://uua.org/visitors/6798.shtml and decide for yourself in which ways Margaret's opinions differ from them.
